Idaho Oral Health Alliance Members Elect New Board Leaders
The Idaho Oral Health Alliance (IOHA) Executive Committee announced the results of the annual board member elections at the Annual Member Event, held at Telaya Wine Co., in Garden City, Idaho.
The following individuals were elected to serve on the board from 2017 to 2019 were:
Angie Bailey, RDH-EA, MSDH - As program manager for the Idaho Oral Health Program within the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare, Angie Bailey oversees the statewide program tasked with improving the oral health of Idahoans by planning, implementing, and evaluating programs that prevent oral disease and promoting oral health and expanding access to dental care. In addition to her statewide leadership role, she is the IOHA board chair. Angie has degrees from Lewis-Clark State College, Texas Woman’s University, and Idaho State University, and is a licensed Registered Dental Hygienist with an Extended Access Permit. She is both a regional and national Oral Health Connection Team Member for the DentaQuest Foundation and participates on the Association of State and Territorial Dental Director's Evidence Based Practice Committee. She and her husband have a 2 year old daughter and welcomed a baby boy to the family in September.
Troy Clovis, DMD - Born in Idaho, Dr. Troy Clovis graduated from the University of Connecticut Dental School. He has practiced general dentistry in Boise since 1992 and is a partner with Benchmark Dentistry. He is a member of the Idaho State Dental Foundation Board, is a past advisory board member for the Idaho State University School of Dental Hygiene, and currently serves on the IOHA Finance Committee. He is the IOHA Oral Health Representative for the Central Health Collaborative—a part of the Statewide Healthcare Innovation Plan (SHIP). Dr. Clovis lives for almost any outdoor activity…hiking, rafting, fly fishing, and more.
Samantha Kenney, RDH-EA - Samantha Kenney has been a registered dental hygienist since 2002 and received her certification from the American Institute of Health Technology Dental Hygiene Program. She is the Community Outreach Manager for Delta Dental of Idaho and has worked with Delta since 2005. She works to bring preventive services to seniors, migrants, and children, and she developed the Delta Dental of Idaho Mobile Sealant Clinic which now sees over 6,600 Idaho children each year. Samantha served on the IOHA board from 2003 to 2005, and returned to the board in 2016. She serves on the IOHA Governance Committee, the Oral Health Advisory Group, the Healthy Me is Cavity-Free Steering Committee, and is chair-elect of the board. Sam enjoys being a theatre mom for her high school aged daughter and supports Project Semicolon as a mental health advocate in support of suicide prevention.
Jack Lincks, DDS, MS - Dr. Jack Lincks was born in New Orleans and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force where he served for 21 years in the Dental Corps and retired at the rank of Colonel. He is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, and the International College of Dentists. He is an associate professor for the CSI dental hygiene program and is the founder/director of the High Desert Sage Study Club and High Desert Sage Hygiene Study Club. Jack is a past chair of the IOHA and serves on the Finance and Advocacy Committees.
Andrea Timmerman - Andrea Timmerman serves as the practice manager for Willamette Dental Group in Boise. In addition to her management role, she serves on the IOHA Advocacy Committee, is a member of the Idaho Oral Health Network and the Idaho Medical Group Management Association, serves on the advisory board of Carrington College, is involved with PEO, and is co-director of a the Boise Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education from the University of Idaho and was a special education teacher for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition to spending time with her young daughter, she loves to garden, camp, and cook with her family.
